OR: Oregon Zoo Letterboxes

John and I went to the zoo today just for fun and we remembered to take
the clues for the letterboxes there.

We were able to be discreet for the Wapiti and Marsh Boxes and are
pretty sure we were in the right places, but nary a rubbermaid to be
found. Can someone in the Travelling Circus confirm if these boxes
still exist or are missing?

We landed the beautiful Winking Eagle Box placed by Windairen and
Plundering Bunny. What a wonderful stamp!!! We really loved finding
this letterbox.

As for The Locomotive and Willard's Elephant boxes there was absolutely
no way to be discreet in these areas and, therefore, we didn't make much
attempt to go rummaging through the brush after them. Are they still
there, as well?

It was, after all, the Tuesday afternoon when admission is free (as
opposed to $7.50 per adult), so everybody in the whole wide world was
there with their families enjoying the exotic animals and wonderful
weather.

It might be worth it to actually pay to get in sometime when it is less
busy to seek the other boxes...maybe. Depending on if they are there or
not. We were so happy to nab Winking Eagle and I'm sure the other Zoo
letterboxes would be delightful finds. Please advise if the other 4
boxes still reside in their hiding spots. I can't believe we overlooked
Wapiti and Marsh, but you never know. It would be nice to know if
Locomotive and Willard's are indeed there, as well.

Thanks for a fun day at the zoo!

Best regards,

You were most likely in the right place for all of them. As far as I
know the only one of the zoo boxes that hasn't gone missing is the
Winking Eagle. There are plans to replace at least one of them, but
that may not happen for a while.

If you know the boxes are missing, will you please contact the web
master and either remove the clues or indicate they are missing.

This will save us all a lot of hassel.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks to Windairen and Funhog for responses on the Zoo letterboxes.
I'm so glad we got the one remaining. It's such a beauty! The zoo is
so popular I feel lucky that Winking Eagle still remains.
